Easy Fleece Waistcoat – DIY

waistcoat craft

Do you know fleece material ? It is a synthetic fabric made from PET and other fibers that keeps you warm and is a perfcet alternative to wool for vegans. Another characteristic of this fabric is that due to its composition if you cut it, it doesn’t fray. With some handstitches I did a waistcoat to my “Little Princess”. It is simple, but makes effect. The fabric is a light pink pile bought at Tessuti Raponi. In this place you can buy stock finest fabric at low prices, some of them are put into basket and sold by weight. At the begining I bought it to make a blanket, but last year I did not have time to make it. This year I decided to make the waistcoat. Waistcoat are fashionable again and actually fashion is considering easy wearing, non stitch and free cut styles.

To close it I used a pink ribbon that was enriched with some beads. If you want to avoid stitching, you can consider opening 2 holes (cut line) on each side and pass a beautiful wide ribbon through them.
Try to make it, make a DIY ( do it yourself) . With a rectangle and 2 internal ovals the shape is done. Then you can make fly your immagination to create the closure shape trying it on. Buying the fleece or pile by weigth and with some immagination we can make our own waistcoat to go out or to wear it at home during cold winter nights.

Here below you will find the instructions to how to make a waistcoat:

To make the ovals I have first done the shape on a carton piece ( a biscuit box) then I marked it on the fabric with a pencil.

Komodo: accessible and friendly

Komodo

Komodo

By the end of the eighties, the UK label Komodo got famous in the Acid House scene with their glow-in-the-dark Smilie T-shirts and their fluorescent surfshorts. The label was launched in 1988 by some friends, who met in the English House scene. Fair Trade was a logical way of doing business from the beginning. Director Mark Bloom explains: “We had our collection made in small factories Bali and Kathmandu, we understood from an early stage that the more handmade details we wanted, the more people had to work for us. So the more clothes we ordered, the more people had a job and we felt that was a good thing.”
Step by step also biological cotton got more and more important and nowadays almost 70% of the collection is made of biological cotton. The Komodo collection is sold in manycou ntries in Europe, but also in Japan, the US and in Bali.

San Remo on bike

By chance I have stopped by with my family at San Remo (Italy) and discovered how wonderful is this city right after the Blue Coast in France. As soon as you entered into the center of the city you can park the car and rent a bike. We found immediately at the main parking that has been built at the old train station right in front of the sea a tent named “nolo bici” which offers so many types of bikes to rent. We picked two city bikes and also a trolley for children and had a pleasant ride by the bike course that is long 24 km and it is sorrounded by the typical Ligurian landscape past the sea. This bike course is suitable also for kids and going along it you can stop by some coffee bar and take a delicious Italian coffe or stop by with your children at any park and have an Ice cream. After cycling for at least two hours on our way back to the parking we found a mobile artisan ice cream on bike!
Here we want to share a video, it is worthwhile to visit San Remo and enjoy a ride on bike:
